Bio

Ella Babakhanova is a contemporary artist and educator based in Miami, Florida. Born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and raised in New York, she brings a rich cultural perspective to everything she creates and teaches. Specializing in mixed-media acrylic on canvas, Ella draws inspiration from modernist traditions, personal experiences, and the world around her—infusing her work with vibrant textures and dynamic compositions. Her art has earned recognition, including the Sunny Spaces Award from the City of Sunny Isles Beach in 2024.

Alongside her art career, Ella has nearly six years of classroom experience as a teacher assistant and four years of homeschooling her own children through grades 4–8. She designs engaging, discussion-based learning experiences across subjects like literature, U.S. civics, and financial literacy, often weaving in art as a powerful learning tool. As the creator of the Art Healing Journal, she integrates creativity, reflection, and hands-on activities to inspire curiosity, confidence, and critical thinking in her students.

Ella’s teaching style is warm, respectful, and student-centered, creating an environment where learners feel safe to explore ideas, express themselves, and grow—both intellectually and creatively.
