Bio

Ella Babakhanova, born in 1984 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan,  grew up in New York,  is a contemporary artist currently based in Miami, Florida. Specializing in mixed-media acrylic on canvas, and draws inspiration from modernist traditions and personal experiences. Her work is distinguished by its exploration of vibrant textures and dynamic compositions, reflecting a deep engagement with her immediate environment.

Babakhanova’s art serves as an unbounded medium for self-expression, channeling her most authentic self into public view. Initially constrained by concerns about societal acceptance and artistic expectations, she has since transcended these limitations, achieving a genuine representation of her identity. Her work is characterized by a profound sense of freedom, allowing her to set her own standards and experiment with diverse colors, textures, and styles. This artistic autonomy has enabled her to explore the limitless possibilities of creative expression.

Notable among her achievements, Babakhanova participated in the Sunny Spaces Art Contest at Gateway Artway in Sunny Isles Beach, FL, in 2024.
